Chevy II Nova Gasser: Week to Wicked Day Five Recap
It's day five of our Week to Wicked build. We want to get everything fired up. We have some Thermo Tech to throw down, subframe connectors, a little bit more wiring and we'll get out of the way for the lettering on the car. And after that, we're going to make a whole bunch of noise around town!
Jeff starts with putting the rest of the steering column together. Turn signal lever, tilt lever, hazard button, and then the column should be done. Christian runs the battery cable from the trunk up to the front. Zach is working on putting the heat insulation down, using a roller helps get all the air bubbles out.
We installed our Stewart Warner Green Line Tach in a Speedway Motors mounting tach cup. We're clamping it on the steering column as they did in the 1960s. Jason installed a radiator overflow because any track you go to will require a recovery system. We also added Speedway's universal bucket seat slider tracks to the seat, so we can adjust the seats for everyone.
Jeff Styles is here to add the lettering to the car. Because of time, Jeff uses a stencil to airbrush the artwork on. While he works on that, Joe fires up the Nova for the first time! Feeling it rattle your ears is something to celebrate.
Our guys head back home while Jeff finishes the lettering. When all of that is done, Jason and Christian take the Nova around town and let her loose! We had a ton of fun on the build and can't wait to show you what we have in store for the future. Thanks for following our Chevy II Nova Gasser Week to Wicked build!
