installed on the bottom edge of the dash on my 1927 T hotrod. the fit was good on an older Autometer Tach. I used a Rivnut to bolt it to the dash. I had wished the mounting surface was flat and not curved but no big deal.

My original speedometer in my C10 was no longer accurate so I bought a GPS speedo to place on the steering column. That kept the dash original. I used the tachometer housing to mount it. Looks great and it's flawlessly accurate.

Nicely made, but needs to be about 1/2" deeper.

Will work well for most gauges, but I had to trim the wire terminal posts on my Stewart Warner tach for it to fully seat, as they hit the back of the cup before it was all the way in. I also had to grind the wiring exit slot a little longer so there was a place for the wiring to come out.

I used this to mount an Autometer 3 3/8" diameter tach that was designed to be mounted flush in a dash. This made it a snap to mount it on my steering column and it looks like it came factory that way!
