Chevy II Nova Gasser: Week to Wicked Restoration Parts Interior
Our Chevy II Nova was basically a shell when we started. We pulled a lot of restoration parts from our muscle car catalog for this build. We have restoration type door panels, carpet, arm rest, and window crank. The things you would have found in the car when it was new. This race type, period build also lead us to choose a throttle pedal, harnesses and seat. The throttle pedal looks like it’s right out of the catalog in 1973. The EMPI seat is a new addition for Speedway Motors. The low back design of the seat allows it to fit in a hot rod, street rod, or a period correct drag car.
We plan to take this car to the strip, so we are following all of the steps to make sure it passes tech inspection. We’re working with an NHRA tech inspector, who already inspected the roll cage. We are installing 5 point harnesses, fabricating aluminum sheets to separate the fuel system from the cockpit, and other tasks to run on the strip.
To learn how we fabricated aluminum panels to separate the trunk from the inside of the car watch day four of our Chevy II Nova Gasser build.
