Time Flies When You’re Wiring
Day one and two went by fast, with the big stuff going in first. Suspension, big block Chevy, and fuel systems were only difficult because they were heavy. Otherwise, with all the tools and help at CarCraft, we got everything a lot easier than someone might at home.
But, you don’t need a garage the size of Alaska to build one of these guys, especially with bolt-in parts.
Speaking of bolt-in, we didn’t do a lot of that. Day three brought all the little things that make your car go. We’re talking wiring harnesses, running wiring, solder work, snipping, cutting, prying, and all the tedious little details that need to be done if you want to actually drive fast.
The team also got to work on safety panels, and our very own Jeff Karls did some fabrication work. The EMPI seats and the TCI Outlaw X shifter will sit on mounts Jeff made.
Steve Magnante, Mr. Junkyard Gold himself, spent his last day with the team imparting Gasser wisdom. The guy has the more Gasser knowledge, and can say it faster, than most people have about anything.
Joking aside, we’ll miss his high-energy presence.
The Chevy II Nova was happy to receive some better bling in the form of new bumpers, flashy head and tail lights, and door handles. Read about the rest of Week to Wicked Day 3 here.
