Ford Motor Company lays claim to the most popular pickup trucks of all time. F-Series production has exceeded 40 million units...and that’s not including the pickups that came before 1948! To say the Ford pickup truck has been a hit would be an understatement. With all of that experience behind them, it's certain that FoMoCo knows how to build pickup trucks. At Speedway Motors, we know a thing or two about suppling vintage Ford truck parts, because we've been doing it since 1952 (nearly as long as the F-Series has existed!).

The first Ford pickup truck showed up in the form of the Model T runabout in 1925. In 1928 the Model A was built and along with it, the Model A roadster pickup. In 1932 Fords changed again, at which time the venerable Flathead V8 was fitted. The thing to remember about very early light duty Ford pickup trucks produced from 1925 until 1941 was that they shared the same chassis and drivetrains as the passenger cars of the era. Henry Ford was famous for making things simple, and it doesn’t get any more simple than that. In 1942, with World War II raging, classic Ford truck parts did change from the cars considerably. After World War II came a eureka moment at Ford.

In 1948, the famous F-Series trucks were born. Elegant styling, an all new, re-vamped Flathead V8 for power (and a flathead 6 too!). The Ford F1 evolved into the F100 in 1953, and that naming convention stayed constant until 1975, when the F150 was introduced. Ford F1, F100 and F150 all designate the ½ ton truck platform, while the F250 is the heavier duty ¾ ton cousin, and the F-350 is the 1 ton power house heavy duty truck. It’s been that way since almost the beginning, and it’s Henry’s way.

To say this truck isn’t endeared by many would be a lie. As a result, the classic Ford truck parts industry is vast. It seems that everybody is fixing one up, seeking those hard to find Ford Truck parts. When it comes to sourcing your vintage Ford truck parts, Speedway Motors has been supplying them since 1952.
