Return PolicyThis Pro Billet Aluminum Distributor is designed for the enthusiast that is serious about performance but needs the small cap size due to space considerations when installed. Precisioned CNC machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum to exacting tolerances. The “spark plug” type terminals offer secure wire attachment. Under the brass terminals of the cap and rotor is an extremely accurate magnetic pickup that never requires adjustment along with an easy to adjust mechanical advance mechanism. Features heavy duty 1/2” steel shaft is guided in a long sintered bushing as well as a sealed ball bearing at the top to precisely locate the reluctor. This combination yields stable timing and spark delivery at any RPM.

Started first time.
I was upset when I first received this distributor because the cap has allen screw retainers rather than the bail retainers. This meant I could not use the distributor caps that I have on hand that match my sparkplug boots and connectors I started the return process ten minutes after opening the package. I slept, woke up and started changing the plug wire connectors and boots to fit the cap. This style of cap and connectors snap the plug wires onto the cap and you have to work to pull the connectors off of the cap. A very big plus! The engine started right up. I rotated the distributor with the engine running and a vacuum gauge connected. I watched the vacuum as I rotated the distro to get the best vacuum possible. The engine starts better than ever.

I ordered this distributor for my 1946 239 Merc. engine that I have rebuilt and put a-lot into it and want it run well and not worry about points and timing changes. I haven't run it yet still building the car but I know someone who has one and I'm looking forward to having a smooth driving car. will add comments after engine is running.

This distributor out of the box worked ok. Couldn't make the ignition timing work right for both low and high rpms, but did some reading and figured out that if I replaced one of the springs under the cap with a softer one, the advance would work right. Installed the softer spring and it worked well after that.
