Ratings & Reviews
4.7
67 Reviews
Customers praise the product for its quality, ease of installation, and compatibility with various models. Multiple reviews highlight the kit as comprehensive, eliminating the hassle of sourcing parts separately. Users appreciate the clear instructions and the kit's usability even for individuals not typically familiar with car work. However, some have mentioned the need for additional parts or minor modifications and adjustments for optimal fit. The ability to source replacement components from any auto parts store is valued. In contrast, there is a mixed response on the use of a proportioning valve: some found it unnecessary, while others recommended it. A few users found the calipers and brake lines to be of lesser quality and suggested purchasing these separately. Overall, customers are satisfied with the product and recommend it over competitors, and several users plan to repeat purchase for future projects.

Done in a day.
Everything fit pretty good. I had to grind down part of the casting on the calipers to get them to fit right, which is in the instructions. Also had to grind a slot into one of the brackets to clear a bolt on the drivers side. I wound up using the stock bearing cups that you're supposed to replace and just doubled up the washer between the wheel bearing and castle nut on the spindle. Used the old ones and new ones that came with the kit. Everything is snug and the cotter pin is doing it's job so I think that's an easier fix. Got it all done in about 6 hours including 2 trips to NAPA. Haven't driven the truck yet but we will see. Good kit for the price!

Everything fit well and I could have finished the job in six hours if I didn't have to search for an adapter to make the stock brake line work. I would think the adapter would be included or the hose supplied would have a fitting that match the stock brake lines.

Easiest conversion I've seen. Used on a 41 Ford 1/2 ton and used a Summit kit previously on a 61 ford F100. Can't go wrong with this. Simple, easy to assemble. Quality parts. Would buy again.

Found it cheaper to go with this disc brake conversion kit then to rebuild my 1940 drum brakes. Obviously all offshore parts. But the quality seems good enough. Seriously can't beat it for the price.

Bought this kit to convert a stock 41 willys axle to disc brakes. Figured out that the ford round back spindles work great on the stock willys axle with some minor machine work. Have a set of 15x4 American 5 spoke magnesium wheels with the 5x5.5 bolt pattern. Thats the reason for buying this kit.

Does this kit change the track width of the front end compared to the original drum brakes? Asked another way, if identical backspace wheels are used will the front wheels/tires be further apart or closer together than stock? I realize that disc brake compatible wheels must be used. Car/axle in question is for a '48 Ford.

I have a 48 Ford coupe that is an original. It has the 91031909 conversion kit. Do you have a rotor with bolt pattern 5 on 4.5 that will fit these spindals? I plan to upgrade to a 9 inch rear with 5 on 4.5 bp., and new wheels. Thanks

Does it matter if the calipers are positioned towards the front or rear? The caliper bracket is hitting my king pin lock nut. It's a stock axle with all stock hardware. I really don't want to try and remove the lock pin to turn it around since it has been in there for 70 years. I really don't want to break anything.
