Seat Installation - 410 Sprint Car Build
Today we’re going to be installing the seat and seatbelts. This Butler seat that we’re using is just a placeholder. Whoever wins the car in the raffle will receive their own custom seat.
The guys are installing the 5-Point Ratchet Seat Belt Set. This product is very user-friendly because you can adjust the seatbelt to your own desired tightness. When installing the seatbelt, it’s important to make sure all of the bolts are securely tightened and can't pull through. Once the belt is at the desired length, you can roll up the excess material and zip tie it together. You want the belt to go over the highest tube to your shoulders. Our team prefers to use 2-inch shoulder belts, as opposed to the 3-inch options, because they fit the Hans device better and are more comfortable. The guys take some time installing the grade 8 bolts because they need to be longer for the seat. Then, we wrap up the day putting in the seat upholstery and feeding the belts through.
