Week to Wicked Day 1 Afternoon Recap

1/17/2017
Add Article To List

The afternoon of Day One started off with the frame assembly. Speedway Motors supplied the chassis, a complete bolt-together unit available direct from Speedway. The kit used has tubular upper and lower control arms, a unique adjustable spring perch that works for both traditional coil and also coil-over suspensions, whichever direction your build is going. It is also set up with 12' disc brakes up front. Each component is also available individually, so if you have most, but not all of the parts needed, Speedway Motors has you covered.

Wrapping up the rear was a breeze with the triangulated four link suspension bolting in quickly. Rounding out with a bolt on rear disc brake kit to match the front, Speedway employee Damon L. shares a couple quick tips to make your brake kit installation a little less of a headache and more of an enjoyable process.

The moment of truth comes up next, with the chassis bolted together into a rolling assembly sliding back in underneath the cab of the classic Chevy. Thanks to movie magic, the guys from Speedway Motors and Classic Trucks make the cab installation look like a walk in the park.
