Week to Wicked Day 3 Afternoon Recap
It’s the end of Day Three and “it feels like progress!” The major win for the day is getting the engine and transmission in…for good this time. The build team also got the cab back on with the fuse panel, gauges, and A/C unit all wired and ready to go.
With the engine and transmission in the frame, and the cab siting back on the rails as well, it's starting to look like a truck again. Don't mind the miles of wiring that looks to be hanging all over the place, those will all be trimmed to length, and then connected to their respective instruments and sensors in due time.
The team takes a brief moment to explain a few road bumps they overcame today. A new oil pan was acquired to replace the original selection after it was found to be making contact with the steering rack, the brake pedal assembly needed to be shifted back further, and the frame was notched for additional exhaust space. Like the guys said in the morning recap video, the frames and front ends of these trucks were narrow to start, so dropping a large powerplant between the rails calls for a little creativity.
It’s starting to look like a vehicle and by tomorrow night, we are hoping to have something almost ready to fire!
