One Big Block, a Few Drag Strip Essentials, and One Visit from the Junkyard.

Day two in California welcomed our team with more warm sun.

And what’s better than a big block Chevy? Not much, but a visit from Steve Magnante of Junkyard Gold fame added another level to two. As it turns out, Steve really, really loves Gassers. Some would claim he wrote THE book on how to build a Gasser. If you’re interested, it’s called How to Build Altered Wheelbase Cars.

When he heard there was Gasser business happening, he was going to get into that garage one way or the other. Steve was not disappointed. There was, in fact, much Gasser business afoot.

Read all the details straight from Jeff Honeycutt HERE — he was there for all the action.

The team stripped everything out of the car on day one. Today, Jeff, Joe, and Zach, along with CarCraft’s Jason and Christian, dropped in the engine, installed the TCI Powerglide transmission, and added Wilwood calipers for stopping power in the front. The fuel tank went in just behind the rear axle to add some more weight in the back.

Zach and Jeff explained some of the finer details of the installation, and Christian goes over drag strip fuel system essentials to any build.

Check out the video to get the word straight from Zach and Jeff. Watch the video HERE. During the live recap, Steve drops some knowledge about how to spot rust problems on older cars. Pretty cool.

Keep checking back, we've still got a ways to go...
