Speedway Motors Introduces New IMCA Modified Spec Racing Engine as they Kick Off 2025 Race Season
Speedway Motors announced today the introduction of a new IMCA Modified Spec Racing Engine as they kick off the 2025 race season along with discounts Jan. 27-Feb. 2 to help their customers get ready for race season.
The new “spec” engine adds to their offering of engines developed for other racing series. Speedway Motors Racing Engines worked closely with IMCA to develop this engine package.
IMCA Modified Spec Racing Engine (#12135503)
- New IMCA Modified spec engine from Speedway Motors Racing Engines
- More power and torque than a 604 crate while maintaining drivability
- Modifieds can run the same spoiler allowed with crate engine
- Low maintenance hydraulic roller cam
- Unsealed engine gives racers the freedom to maintain their engine
“For the 2025 season, IMCA has announced a new engine option for Modified racers,” said Zach Woods, Speedway Motors Racing Engines Manager. “The new spec engine is an alternative to the GM 604 sealed crate engine and the open claim engine, and it answers several racers’ requests. Previously, the only options available for Modifieds were the unserviceable roller cam GM crate engines or the flat tappet claim engine. The new spec engine offers the best of both worlds for IMCA Modified racing. It’s an unsealed engine that racers can work on themselves, it uses the same low-maintenance hydraulic roller lifters as the crate engine, and unlike the claim engine, racers are still able to run the same rear spoiler as with the crate.”
