Installation Tips

Superior level of protection for those on a budget:

FR Cotton is designed for the economic racer involved in organizations that do not require Nomex material. All cotton suits feature a special flame-resistant treatment for an increased level of safety.
The SFI Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization established to issue and administer standards for specialty/performance automotive and racing equipment. All Finishline racing suits are SFI-certified.

How to care for your race suit:

Dry cleaning is recommended but the following steps for normal machine washing are acceptable.

Note: some dry-cleaning solvents are flammable and may leave a flammable residue on your race suit.

Machine wash with a mild detergent in cold water. DO NOT use fabric softener or bleach.
Before washing, close the zippers and fasten all Hook and loop closed using a stainless steel safety pin to prevent damage to the fabric.
DO NOT wash other garments with your race suit to prevent the risk of staining from color bleeding from other items. Remove suit from machine immediately after washing.
Wash right-side-out ONLY to prolong the life of the liner.
Hang indoors to dry, as hanging in the sun will cause fading.

A Single Layer Racing Suit Perfect for The Sportsman Racer

We know racing gets expensive and that there are inherent dangers to the sport. But that doesn’t mean you can’t be safe while keeping your racing budget in check. For those sportsman level “weekend racers” that do not require multi-layer Nomex suits to compete in, our single layer fire retardant cotton (FRC) racing suits are a great option.

Our SFI-1 driving suit offers peace of mind and when it comes to fire protection. The single-layer, SFI 3.2A/1 fire suits have a TPP (Thermal Protection Performance) rating of 6, promising up to three seconds of protection from second degree burns. While three seconds doesn’t sound like much time, with practice you should easily be able to release your harness and exit your race car within that time frame. Learn more about SFI and TPP Ratings by reading our tech article, What are SFI and TPP Ratings?.

One Piece Racing Suits Provide Increased Protection

The one-piece driving suit construction offers protection over a two-piece fire suit in that there is no gap between the pants and jacket for a potential flame/heat path to reach your skin. This fire suit is lab tested SFI 3.2A/1 fire resistant and comes in four color options: black, gray, blue, or red and is available in sizes S-XXL. Dual reinforced epaulets give safety crews a secure grab point in the event of extraction from the car. Pair this suit with our Fire Resistant Underwear offerings to increase your fire protection TPP values. Learn how to properly wash and care for your fire suit by reading our Racing Suit Cleaning and Care guide.

Overall Assessment

Customers highly recommend this racing suit due to its snug fit and accurate sizing. The product is praised for providing a great quality, evident in its material quality and durability. Customers have remarked it withstands washing without any seam rips or frays. The suit's solid zipper is another noted advantage. Users appreciate the slim fit but suggest opting for a size bigger for those with a larger stomach area. Additionally, the suit has been identified as affordable and outstanding value for its durability and functionality. Some customers, however, suggested the suit runs smaller than the size chart indicates, recommending to order a size larger. Despite this, the overall consensus is that it is a great product for beginner and more experienced drivers.

A great suit for the price.

This suit is made awesome. The only recommendation I have is to order bigger for yourself. These run smaller than their chart advises. I should have been able to fit in a large but I ordered the extra large to have some extra room. It was good I bought the larger size as this suit fit like a glove. A large would have been too small. I am 5 foot 10 inches tall and large build.

I am very happy with my purchase from Speedway motors. The racing suit is wonderful fits great the only improvement I would like to see is better stitching in the pocket pockets. The pockets ripped pretty quick other than that. Everything is wonderful thank you.

I gave this racing suit to my 17 year old grandson for Christmas. He races at Wiscasset Speedway. He was so excited that he put it right on. He kept it on and said he might even sleep in it.
