In this Tech Tip, John offers up a couple solutions to a customer wanting the best electric option to fuel his project.

“I am building a Model A pick up hot rod with a Chevy 265 four barrel Rochester, and wanted to ask your opinion on what fuel electric fuel pump would be best suited for my build? This is just a cruiser nothing more.”

Hi, thanks for the question. On your 265 with a Rochester 4 barrel, if you’re not wanting to run a stock mechanical fuel pump we do have some options. The Holley Red Electric pump, P/N 42512801, pre-set at 7 psi, and the Speedway version (P/N 91012801) are both popular options. If your carb is in good shape it should be able to handle the 7 psi with no problems. A more compact unit from K&N that comes with a filter is P/N 465810402. This is a demand pump and runs only when needed. Feel free to visit us on the web at www.speedwaymotors.com or call 1-800-979-0122 with questions or to place an order.
