How to use Body Repair Patch Kit and What you need

7/9/2020
Add Article To List

Quite often when we write tech articles here at Speedway Motors we talk about the biggest and the baddest parts we carry. We want to talk about the really cool drop axle front ends, neat ignition parts we carry, or even the parts that are hard to find. What about the parts that are hard to find because no one talks about them?

For that reason, that is why I am bringing up the Body Repair Patch Kit. This is a weld-in hole patch kit that features multiple laser-cut, circular, steel weld-in patches. These kits are available in a variety of gauges. Slightly undersized to the hole you are patching in order to allow a clean and penetrating weld. The thinner gauge kits have a .025” standoff and the thicker gauges have a .050” standoff to allow good penetration.

Each kit contains:

  • 1 Qty – 2.0” diameter
  • 1 Qty – 1.5” diameter
  • 4 Qty – 1.0” diameter
  • 8 Qty – .75” diameter
  • 12 Qty – .50” diameter

These kits are perfect for filling those unwanted holes in just about anything metal. You can fill your firewall, floors, or even frame holes. The larger pieces really come in handy because it seems like no matter what project I get, there is always a need for some hole fillin’.

Speaking of your fabricator friends at Speedway Motors we carry a long line of welding equipment. From welding helmets, welding protection, and a variety of tools to help with your welding projects. I love the Titan Tools Magnets we sell like part #728-41291. This is the very type of magnet you can use to attach the body repair kit mentioned in this article. Check out our Titan Tool welding helmets when you get a chance! Very cool helmets with a bunch of great features!
