Week to Wicked Product Feature: Vintage Air SureFit Kit

When Speedway Motors and Classic Trucks teamed up to build a 1952 Chevy truck in celebration of Speedway’s 65th anniversary they knew it was going to be cool. They also wanted to make sure the occupants stayed cool as well. To that end, they reached out to Vintage Air for an Air Conditioning and Heating kit.

Vintage Air responded with their 1950-1953 Gen IV SureFit kit. Ryan Manson and Damon Lee take some time to talk about the kit while building the Chevy at Classic Trucks’ shop in California.

The 1952 Chevy didn’t have a heater in it when Speedway Motors acquired it, and as anyone who has set foot in Nebraska in December knows, it can get cold out here. Having the heat as a built in option was a blessing, not that the truck will ever see snow again. If you’re updating a classic, check out the SureFit kits, Vintage Air has developed several applications for a wide range of years.

The great thing about these kits is that they require zero modification to the vehicle interior other than mounting points. The Chevy kit even comes with a shallower glove box to accommodate the space that the kit will take up behind the dash.

Combined with the Vintage Air FrontRunner Serpentine kit on the LS3, which is a compact serpentine system that tucks the accessory drive components tight against the block, this kit will run off one serpentine belt and be easy to service and maintain for years. This is beneficial in our case because of the narrow front ends and engine compartments of the early ‘50’s Chevy trucks.
