What is a Sanctioning Body

A sanctioning body is simply an organization that regulates and coordinates the way a specific sport functions. In the motorsports world there are many sanctioning bodies that exist. They are formed to regulate events, manage and discipline infractions, and devise new rules and guidelines in hopes to keep racing a fair and safe experience for all competitors. Speedway Motors works closely with several sanctioning bodies, including IMCA, ASCS, and others. We've provided links below to the rules pages for some of these sanctioning bodies so that you can learn more about getting involved.
