Jeff Behrens Jeff came to Speedway Motors in 2019 and currently manages the Retail Store at our headquarters in Lincoln, NE. He previously worked as an Automation Specialist at Linweld Automation and as a Maintenance Supervisor at Molex, LLC. He graduated in 2000 from Southeast Community College in Milford, NE with an Associate Degree in Electromechanical Technology, and is also certified in TIG welding.
Jeff grew up wrenching on cars with his grandfather, who taught him everything he initially need to know about cars starting at the young age of 11. He recalls his grandfather owning 25+ cars from Studebakers, Nash’s, Pontiacs and various Model A’s, all of which prepared him for his own project cars. His grandfather even took a solo 120-mile road trip to a car show & parade at 99 years old in his 1950 Mercury. That’s how much passion he had for his cars. After learning the basics for a decade, Jeff started building and modifying his own cars at 25. He has a special knack for untangling the spiderwebs and headaches of wiring and plumbing, and has been doing LS swaps since the mid 2000’s when LS Swaps weren’t so easy to do. He is most proud of frame off restoring his ‘69 Chevelle in 8 months back in 2010. Another proud moment for Jeff when his latest Chevelle SS made the cover of GM High Performance, as well as the 2015 & 2019 Speedway Motors muscle car covers. Aside from building cars, Jeff was a member of Rolling Wheels Car Club and attended their parades every year from 2000 – 2018 in Beatrice, NE. He’s been on numerous Americruise events from 2005 - 2009, and O’Reilly’s Hot Rod Nationals from 2010 - 2014. He’s also made it out to Goodguys for a few years from 2015 – 2017.
