Fueled by a lifelong passion for anything with wheels and an insatiable curiosity for the hot-rodding world, Jesse Kiser brings a unique perspective to the Toolbox.
Raised in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Jesse grew up on the concrete floor of a garage, wrenching on cars from a young age and even building his first motorcycle at 16. Jesse’s career has spanned over 20 years, including racing NASCAR mini stock, achieving his dream job at HOT ROD Magazine, and being behind the scenes for the start of shows like Roadkill.
Jesse worked at various newspapers and hot rod shops in his teenage years, gaining invaluable hands-on experience.
He attended UNC-Charlotte, initially enrolling in the mechanical engineering motorsports program, then pivoted to writing about racecars. He received a bachelor’s degree in communications journalism/media studies from High Point University. He's written for other notable titles including Hemmings, In The Garage Media and TheDrive.com.
Jesse loves overlooked ugly 1980s vehicles, and owns a 750-horsepower LS-swapped G-body wagon and an air-ride-equipped 1967 Impala.
