Jacob has been interested in cars ever since his father purchased a 1973 Datsun 240z in 1996. That father/son car project evolved over the years into a triple weber carbureted setup, and then to a turbocharged engine.
He still owns this car and is working through a 2JZ engine swap with a sequential shifter setup that'll have a weekend warrior/road course setup. He also has a Datsun 510 with a turbocharged Nissan KA24DE, along with a Lexus as a utilitarian vehicle that he takes offroad too. Additionally, Jacob has a side hustle designing LED taillight solutions for niche market vehicles like his Datsun 510.
Prior to joining Speedway Motors as a software engineer in 2021, he earned his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln 2015. After graduation, Jacob has worked as the video editor in chief for 1320Video, a software engineer at NTT, and most recently as a software engineer at Spreetail.
Jacob specializes in the electronics area of the autobody. He has a grand vision of a highly capable electronics system in his 240Z project. He’s even designed and installed a few different implementations of standalone electronic fuel injections systems in his vehicles over the years.
He is a member of the Z Car Club of Nebraska, as well as the Ice Cream Cruise.
Jacob has built several cars, including a 1973 Datsun 240Z with an L28ET Turbocharged Swap, and a 2JZ 6 Speed CD009 Transmission on the way. Also, a 1973 Datsun 510 equipped with a Turbocharged KA24DE with forged internals. Finally, he has built a 2002 Subaru WRX STi Drivetrain Swap.
He owns the two 1973 Datsuns that he built, along with a 2017 Lexus LX570 and a 2005 Lexus LS430.
