PerTronix 1283 Details

Never change points again with the PerTronix Ignitor System. This ignitor kit fits most 1949-1953 Ford Flathead V8's and provides increased voltage for improved performance and fuel efficiency. The system fits neatly underneath the distributor cap and is compatible with all 12 volt negative ground systems.

PerTronix Ignitor Systems are designed for use with any stock point type coil or the FlameThrower 40,000 volt coil for maximum performance Also compatible with MSD ignition boxes.

Note: For use where plate adjuster springs are on top. If on bottom, use4471281.

1949-53 Mercury All models flathead V8 (Ignitor version available in 6V negative ground, add N6 suffix, Ignitor version available in 6V positive ground, add P6 suffix, Ignitor version available in 12V positive ground, add P12 suffix, Not for use with solid core spark plug wires)

This is my third patronix 1283 kit 1949 1950 12 volt that I purchased due to them going bad my car will run and then all of a sudden shut off automatically it'll restart and then run for a while and then shut off again I've been told that's when you know they're gone bad what's causing them to go bad
