Thom is a distinguished Writer, Editor, Journalist, and Automobile Designer. His work has been featured in prominent publications throughout the industry, and he was named one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Hot Rodding by Hot Rod Magazine.
He has penned several books, including “Hot Rod & Custom Chronicle” and several guides for drawing vehicles based on his expertise in illustration.
Thom’s work history includes a role as Staff and Executive Editor at Hot Rod Magazine, Editor at Petersen Museum Finish Line Magazine, contributor to Hagerty Media, and Senior Editor at MotorBiscuit. His clients include Chevrolet, Ford, Bell Tech, Kawasaki, SEMA, Webb Automotive Art, Centerline Wheel, and American Racing Wheel. He also crewed a Fueler for Mike Chrisman Jr.
He has earned some major honors in the industry, including spots in the Halls of Fame for Hot Rod Magazine, Grand National Roadster Show, and National Rod and Custom, and he was named the Rod & Custom Person of the Year in 1994. Thom designed two cars that won Best in Show honors from SEMA, a Dan Webb Sport Trac Pickup and an Eric Clapton 1940 Ford Coupe. He is also a member of SEMA and NHRA.
