Myles's passion for cars comes from his Dad. Just days out of the hospital, his parents hauled an infant Myles to the local racetrack while his dad worked with a local racer helping him in the pits. Myles has been a fan of NASCAR for as long as he can remember. His dad, under the guise of buying him a high school car, bought a 1969 Chevelle which turned out to be his restoration project car. One of their best memories is buying a parts car 1969 El Camino and driving it 140 miles from the Fremont Swap Meet. That car was to be parts for his dad’s Chevelle but ultimately ended as a second project car. Myles learned a lot about driving and wrenching on those cars. In 2012, they bought his dream car, a 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo.

Myles started at Speedway Motors in 2010, working for two years in both small and big pack and then re-joining Speedway Motors on the eCommerce team as a Content Specialist in April 2020. Between his time at Speedway Motors, he worked at Schmidt Machine in Fairbury, Nebraska, doing hot rod repairs, upgrades, and installations. Prior to that, Myles was a Construction and Testing Technician at Midwest Roadside Safety Facility at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he prepared vehicles for Research & Development testing, and impact testing of roadside safety hardware. Myles was also an Engineering Technician at MwRSF, analyzing test data and developing standard operating procedures for testing.

Installing a dual Vintage Air system in a 1960’s Daimler Limousine was a big project for him while working at Schmidt Machine. Myles and the team installed an AC system directed toward the driver compartment and a Heat/AC system directed toward the passenger compartment of the Limo. Both systems utilized the same AC compressor and condenser, and they routed custom AC ducts for the front and rear compartments.

That 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is still his personal car and has since had a rebuilt 454 Gen V big block Chevy with a TH400 transmission installed. Shortly after that, Myles took it to his friends at 2nd Chance Body Shop & Sales in Kearney, Nebraska, for body and paint. He has been driving it and upgrading it ever since. Myles has made headliner and carpeting restorations, upgraded the cooling system, and continues to update the electrical system. The major build theme is Restomod since he has upgraded many of the under hood systems, along with a Vintage Air AC, but Myles intends to keep the exterior stock with some minor upgrades. The interior will follow suit, adding just a few tasteful upgrades.
