In the years following World War II, manufacturers unveiled all-new pickup trucks aimed at a wider audience than farm and industrial use. With innovations like lowered cab heights, two-tone paint jobs, independent front suspensions, and the availability of automatic transmissions, it’s easy to see how these trucks made the transition from a workhorse only role to something enjoyed every day. Maybe climbing up onto that soft bench seat makes you nostalgic or you just appreciate the innovative-yet-uncomplicated classic truck designs of the past. No matter your reason for keeping that classic truck around, we have all the parts and accessories to keep your classic truck roadworthy for years to come.

There is nothing more inherently American than the venerable pickup truck. These vehicles, with their utilitarian roots, bring many fond memories to many people from all walks of life. The pickup truck’s first inception came in the early 20th century,  and they  were designed to carry goods in their handy pickup truck beds. This dramatically changed life on the farm in those days, and helped change farm life from horse and cart to gasoline powered propulsion.

Henry Ford recognized early on the need for a pickup truck. Chevrolet was already in the pickup truck business in 1918 with their first model, and Ransom E. Olds had been building  the venerable REO Speedwagon since 1915. Ford customers had already been modifying their Model T cars for years to haul loads, so Henry Ford followed suit in 1925 and the Model T Runabout was born. The world responded  by buying them in groves. It didn’t take long for all the other major manufacturers to get on board with the pickup truck platform. Some of the most popular trucks ever made are names like Ford F-1, Ford F-100, Chevy C-10, Chevy Silverado, GMC , Ford F-250 and Dodge Power Wagon, just to name a few.

Enough of the truck history lessons for now. Get started on your story - seize the day!
