Get a great rear suspension for your classic with this 1947-53 Chevy pickup 1/2 ton truck and the 1954 Chevy pickup 1/2 ton truck (with slight installation frame modifications) triangulated 4 bar rear suspension kit. This precision engineered kit includes bolt-on frame brackets, weld-on axle brackets, tubular steel bars, and chromoly adjusters with urethane bushings. This triangulated four bar rear suspension will greatly improve both the ride quality and handling of your 1/2 ton Chevy.
- Allows the do-it-yourself rodder to use the rear end of their choice
- Modern geometry and handling
- Chromoly four bars with urethane bushings
- Bolt-on frame brackets and shock crossmember
- The length of the upper bars is 16" eye to eye
- The length of the lower bars is 21.5" eye to eye
- 1/2 ton chassis application only.
- Kit will locate rear axle centerline in the original factory housing center line, and as such, it retains the original wheel base and the tire/wheel will not be centered in the fender opening as they will be located in the original factory location.
NOTE: Finish will be plain steel, not powder coated as shown. Third member, axle shafts, coil-overs, and rear disc brake kit are shown in the photo for reference only, but are not included as part of this kit and are available separately. When installing into a 1954 frame, due to the slight differences in the 1947-53 and 1954 frame, additional installation modifications will be required for the install into the 1954 frame at the shock crossmember area with regards to the width. Please note that this is applicable only to the 1/2 ton chassis application and will not fit the 3/4 ton chassis applications.

What my truck needed.
Easy to install. No real instructions for the no axle included mounting, so do your homework and breakout the math skills.

4 Bar Suspension
Very disappointed with the rear shock cross member. This "Custom Kit" is built only for a Speedway Chassis. Why would you sell this product if the customer had to modify. It states it fits 47-54 Chevy. I now have to cut off the cross member and rotate it in order to align the shock mounts.

I am happy so far with the customer service and product and will continue to keep buying the parts until I finish my 1951 Chev Truck project that was given to me by my father in law who has passed away to finish. I want to show my truck and join the car shows.

I do have the product installed but since this is a complete frame off restoration it will be several months before I have an opportunity to drive it and see how it performs. The install instructions sent are only for a new frame purchased from Speedway motors. It would be nice if there was instructions for installing in an existing factory frame.

I purchased this kit for use with our 48 1/2 ton panel truck. Finally getting to the point of install and would like a recommendation of the length of the coilover needed, I'm shooting for a near stock height. Thank you.
