Speedway Motors 91032110 Details
These Speedway spindles are a one piece, forged design constructed of high strength 4140 steel, which makes them superior to original components. These spindles are modeled after the 37-41 round-back design and use 37-41 Ford kingpins. They fit Ford axles from 28-48 and can be used with period correct drum brakes or modern Speedway Motors disc brakes, but will not work with hubs from 28-36.
Deluxe kingpins feature modern needle bearing inserts that replace the standard brass bushings and are ideal for use on heavier street rods that require superior strength, better lubrication and easier steering.
- Uses 1937-1941 kingpin kit
- For Ford axles 1928-1948
- Will not work with 1928-1936 Hubs
- Includes kingpin kit
Be sure to include our spindle nut kit (910616004) to properly install these spindles.

Nice set with an easy install
Needed to replace the front end and spindles... this kit is great. No issues with fittings or bearings. Easy install on a Super Bell i-beam axle with no shimming!

Mixed feeling
The needle bearing do not stay in the housing which makes it Very hard to insert the kingpins without knocking them out. Some kind of lip in the edge of the housing would help to keep them in. I found that if I put the lower bearing in after the kingpin was almost all the way in it worked a little better then the top bearing afterward. It's still better then the original so can't complain with the end result

Kingpin installation instructions were very thorough and were mostly right on. Only real issue was that instructions said to install the thrust bearing "with the lettered side of the bearing facing up", but there was no lettering, so a quick visit to You Tube indicated that the part of the bearing that rotates should face down. I also needed to drive the narrow lower bushings down further to get the lock notches in kingpins to line up. The other small issue I had was that the threads of the set screws did not match those of the zerk fittings that came out of the Speedway spindles, so I still need to source 4 of those to make this complete. I'm still a ways away from being able to tell how it steers with this kit.

We put it in a 40 pickup and like the way the steering works with a manual box. A friend of ours put it in his and loves it.

I could push the needle bearings through the bearing seat with my finger, instead of using the press in tool, I have had to glue them in place, that was disappointing. The Spindles fit perfect to my Wilwood brake kit and the original I-beam axle!

I am confused... My car presently has the round back design which you refer to as as the Ford type... However my rotors are GM and my calipers are GM metrics... FYI...my axle is ROUND...unlike most I see...

I am planning to purchase a speedway i beam dropped axle with speedway 28-48 ford spindle kit. This is going on a 32 Ford with a tube axle and FOUR BAR set up. What steering arms do I need to clear the four bar (i.e. tie rod runs between the bars). I want to order all of these items at the same time.

Will these fit into the 1935 Ford Commercial / Truck stock front axles? From what I can tell they are built much heavier than the passenger vehicles. If not, does speedway offer a spindle kit that would work with this factory axle?
