Edelbrock 1901 Details

Edelbrock is introducing their new AVS2 carbs to their already well renowned line of carburetors. This carburetor features annular flow primary boosters to improve off idle and cruising performance. The annular flow helps eliminate any flat spots that may happen when the carburetor transitions from idle to full throttle. The 500 CFM are designed for smaller cubic-inch engines with a single carburetor. These include both times and full vacuum ports for ignition advance. This 500 CFM carburetor with electric choke has a square flange that allows it to be fitted to many different intake manifolds. This carb is ready to be bolted on and ready to run right out of the box.

Installed on a 1965 mustang With a 289 engine. Took off a edelbrock 1406 600 CFM which was a little to much for a small 289. Cruises so much better

I've been a fan of the edlbrock carburetor for years. I replaced a 600hp fitek power adder on a virtually stock vortec 350 Chevy in a 83 square body that I restored. I realized the fitek was too big for my application, surging while idling, poor fuel mileage etc. the truck runs 1700 rpm at 60 mph, the 500 cfm carb is perfect for that. It will rarely see over 3500 rpm. Excellent choice for an application like that.
