When Space Is at A Premium, An Electric Cooling Fan Is a Must

Engine driven fans have been around for more than a century and provide a simple solution to pulling ambient air through the vehicle’s radiator to reduce cooling system temperatures. Often used with a radiator mounted fan shroud They work well in stock engine/chassis environments but can often become a source of frustration when performing engine swaps or upgrading to thicker radiators to combat elevated temperatures in performance engine builds. Enter the electric cooling fan.

The electric cooling fan, once a staple of engine swaps and race car builds has become the preferred OEM cooling fan of choice, and for several great reasons. They do not take away from engine horsepower, provide a much more compact cooling fan solution, and can be controlled in several ways (manual switch, thermal switch, modulated fan controller, etc.). The only drawback to an electric cooling fan has been in how to mount them to your radiator. Through the core mounts and universal brackets are the norm, but neither product is a secure fan mount and can damage your radiator’s core fins or tubes. Our new electric fan shroud provides a quick and secure way to mount an electric cooling fan while also providing an effective cooling solution by forcing air to be pulled through the whole radiator core and not just through the fan’s diameter area.

Designed To Fit Radiators with Lip-Style Upper and Lower Channels

We made our aluminum fan shroud to fit our universal single pass and double pass SBC/BBC radiators, but honestly this universal fan shroud will work with many crossflow radiators using lip-style upper and lower radiator channels. Measure your radiator carefully and refer to the product drawings provided to confirm fitment on radiators other than those mentioned above.

Installation of our aluminum radiator shroud is easy with the shroud’s upper mount hooking to the radiator channel’s upper lip. At the bottom of the radiator shroud, we left final retention to the end user. You can attach your fan shroud’s bottom lip via rivets, tapping screws, or small bolt/locknut hardware. The pre-cut 15-1/2-inch fan opening is designed to work with most any 16-inch cooling fan and there is ample radiator shroud surface area to add rubber cooling flaps if desired for highway speed cooling passthrough needs.

Application

Pairs pefectly with Speedway Motors' 22", 24", 26", 28", 31", and 33" radiators:

917347 SBC/BBC universal single pass

917340 SBC/BBC universal double pass

OUTSTANDING PRODUCT

I was concerned regarding how this would arrive and then install since it is aluminum and would damage VERY easy in shipping. It arrived On TIME and was packaged very well to prevent damage from handling. In addition, it was completely covered on the finished side with a protective "peel off" coating. The dimensions I had to work with were VERY critical and it was ESSENTIAL for this to be exactly as advertised in order to fit. Low and behold, it was PERFECTLY sized and once I drilled the mounting holes it fit perfectly in place with NO additional alterations or fabrication of ANY sort.

This has worked great for me on my Jegs radiator. Dimensions were true and fitment was good. Used a little puffy tape to seal the cracks and hasnt needed adjusted since installed. Made a ton of difference in cooling, fan runs so much less.

I used this shroud to mount a 16" e-fan in my LS swapped BMW 750Li. My car would not stay below 180 degrees without it and now I can idle through pits and paddocks at 165 consistently.
