Great breathing muffler
Got this to put on my 99 GMC Jimmy. I put in 2 1/2" pipe from the Y to the tail along with this muffler. The performance and economy improvement was noticable. As for sound, that was noticable as well, the 4.3 Vortec V6 sounds like a V8 at an idle. There is a good bit of drone during low RPM light load. When cruzing down the highway, the interior sound isn't bad and it seems to get less with more speed. In the long run, I'm not sure if I will keep this muffler or switch to something with a little less drone. This is a well constructed muffler and you feel like you're putting in a quality part. Even though it may not be the one I stay with, it could be the right one for you.

May not buy again.
This one is a replacement due to one of welds broke loose on an inside chamber. after about 1500 miles wife wanted to keep the same thing on the car. If this happens again I will buy something else.

Replaced mufflers on a friends 68 camaro. Fit good. I dont care for the sound but he likes it. Then again i dont like the sound of a fuel injected small block anyway.

The quality of the sound the mufflers produce for my small block Malibu is much sweeter than I was hoping for. The "clipster" type headers I chose dump into 3" collectors and instead of the X or H pipe I decided to use an oval muffler with 2 pipes inlet and 2 pipes exits.2.5in pipes all the way over the rear axle and ending with 2" turn down pipes 2" past the rear bumper. I'm running a 327- .30 over, mild cam flat hyd. lifters, roller rockers, 202-intake,160-exhaust. 2400 stall converter in a B&M th 350. Wheel dynoed to 315. 1969 Malibu,not very light. On to the wiring.
