I bought this for my 1979 Ford Fairmont, which of course has the same 2.3 Lima model engine as the Pinto. It actually fit surprisingly well between the firewall/floorpan and starter/bellhousing, with only minimal modifications required with a hammer. Something that could be improved on, is the hole alignment for the header bolts, and the pipes bend a little close to the flange, making bolt installation a bit difficult. The header I received was slightly off from the holes on the head, and in the end there was one bolt that couldn't be fitted. I could obviously get a drill bit and wallow out the hole a couple of millimetres to make it fit, but I couldn't be bothered. The takeaway: if this was a performance build with top level parts from Esslinger and such, I would be calling customer support and complaining. However, this was a stock build with oem rebuild materials from Rock Auto. This motor only made 88 horsepower from the factory, and I've only unlocked maybe 10-15 hp extra with some minor adjustments of exhaust, air, and fuel. For my application, one missing bolt and some slightly flattened down tubes are not going to bother the performance all that much. I would recommend some adjustments to the hole alignment, but overall im happy with what I've received.

Used this for my Shay/Camelot Model A Roadster. Fit was easy after changing the mounting bracket for the transmission tube. Good product at good price.

Modified to fit a 1995 ranger, it's obviously not made for this truck and I had to weld on an o2 sensor bung and a collector flange, also had to grind a little off of the Mazda M5OD bellhousing to clear a primary tube. This header gave me a noticeable power increase from 2500-6000rpm rev limit without killing any low rpm torque.

This header fit my car pretty nicely. I had to move the floor outwards slightly for it to fit. I also had to add threads for an O2 sensor so it would work correctly in my car. However, the bolts that were included fit perfectly and the header went on without a hitch. Great product, great look, would buy again!

When I received my headers I was worried about the fit, because I wasn't sure about the year of my engine. Once I took off the old manifold the new header went on with no problem. I am very pleased with the whole outcome.

I have a 302 bellhousing on my 2.3L Fox Mustang. ('86) Will there be a clearance issue? The catalytic converter pipe won't bolt up properly to the exhaust manifold because of the larger diameter of the V8 bellhousing.
