Speedway Motors 9308037S Details
These tight-fit headers are designed to be used with standard exhaust port Small Block Chevy heads that have angle spark plugs. Features 1-5/8" primary tubes and 2-1/2" collectors with 2-1/4" outlets. These shorty headers are perfect for tight-fit installations.
The block hugger headers come with bolts, gaskets and reducers. The port openings on the tight fit headers are round and work fine on heads with round or rectangle ports.
Application
- Can be used with most oil filter systems and transmission/starter combinations.
- Does not fit '55-'57 Chevy cars, Camaros, or other modern vehicles which have a crossmember below the engine's center two exhaust ports.
NOTE: Stainless header tubing when exposed to exhaust temperature will cause the finish to change color which will vary with the exhaust temperature. Please note that the finish of the header when the engine is started, will change to a light champagne color to a darker gold finish and in some instance may even turn dark blue or purple. This can be polished back out when utilizingBlue-awayorSimi-chrome polish, but please note that when the headers reach running temperature again, they will immediately change color.

Using these headers on a 61 belair / 355 sbc / airbagged. Headers fit perfectly, nice thick flange - no exhaust leaks. Work great because car is bagged and lays flat - great clearance. They do change colors after usage, but it reminds me of the old school motorcycle exhaust days when they changed. Doesn't bother me - but if you want to keep them shiny you will be cleaning after every drive.
