These tie rod/drag link kits are pre-cut and tapped lengths of 7/8" O.D. tubing available in multiple lengths. Each kit comes complete with 5/8" heim joint rod ends and jam nuts. Tubing will be tapped with right-hand & left-hand threads for adjustability.
Select your length based on the center-to-center of the heim rod ends, which will also be the eye-to-eye distance between the steering arms (the acutal tube will be 3" shorter than length selected). At selected length, the link will be adjustable from 1/4" shorter to 1/2" longer.
Normally used with 49-54 Chevy style spindles and flat steel steering arms. Can be used with stock type Ford arms if drilled out to 5/8".
Note: Always use anti-seize to prevent galling the treads during final installation.

Went away from tie rods and went with this and it saved me tons of time and money. It went together with ease using the Heim joint adapter for each side. Highly recommend if you are tired of looking for parts.

I would like this to make a steering draglink for 51 Chevy pickup to work with drop axle. I don't wAnts the taper of a tie rod. You seem to only have the heim in 24" but I need about 12. Could I get just the 12" 11/16 shaft part and install a 11/16 heim in it ?

Which rod ends do I need? My Vega pitman arm has a 5/8" hole, but I am using 37-48 ford steering arms, which take 7 deg tapered ends. I am using the 7 deg tapered ends for the tie rod from wheel to wheel. Can i use a 7 deg tapered end from the steering arm to a Spherical rod end on the pitman arm? I am wondering if both rod end types function the same way. As long as it fits the hole, it should work the same correct? I am trying to avoid drilling out the holes to accomidate 5/8" spherical rod ends. Thanks!
