Installed this on my '68 Dodge D100 with 318 and 3pd 727. The factory lever/rod system just didn't work, no matter how much I tried to adjust it. I had previously installed Lokar Throttle cable and it was such a major improvement, I had to have the kickdown cable. Word of Advice, if you plan on adding this and Lokar throttle cable, do both at the same time. The included brackets bolt together with the throttle cable adjuster (see instructions diagrams). It's much easier doing everything together the first time. Little disappointed I had to trim 8" off the cable housing even though this is made for TF727's, but it's relatively easy with a cutoff wheel. After installing the cable and getting everything adjusted properly, the kickdown works flawlessly. The 727 actually kicks down now!! Drops to 2nd gear for great passing and hill climbing performance. Lokar Kickdown cable and throttle cable really makes this old tank a pleasure to drive now.
