Lokar TD-3700FM Details

You have flexibility with Lokars Teflon-lined Flexible Braided Stainless 700R4 Transmission Dipstick. Kit comes complete with braided stainless outer housing and heat resistant E-Z to read flexible inner dipstick measuring cable. Inner cable is molded with appropriate trans fluid levels. Billet aluminum handle and billet aluminum fittings complement Lokars Flexible Engine Dipsticks. Kit includes dipstick funnel adapter to assist in filling. Designed for "push in" style transmissions. Dipstick seals with double O-rings. Applications available for GM 700R4 transmissions in firewall mount which measures 24" in length. Kit comes complete with installation instructions.

I am installing a Mercury Marine engine purchased from a boat, into a 1976 AMC Hornet Sportabout, a small station wagon. This is another application of the venerable SBC. I am using a 700R4 Transmission and the OEM dip stick tube for checking fluid level when used in a Caprice obviously does not fit well when the transmission is used in a Hornet. The LOKAR product is exactly what is needed and will solve the fit problem and will also have a very nice clean look when the engine compartment is seen. And frankly Speedway sends me a new catalog often and while I wish I could purchase everything here, I keep things bookmarked for both need and desire and being able to order the correct part to solve an installation problem or just because I can and it is pretty is kinda nice. As to pretty and where it fits when building a car? Face it, who wants to spend money on ugly.
