Speedway Motors 9301699 Details

Zoomie style header kit designed for use with standard port small block Chevy heads.  Features extra-thick flanges and 1-3/4" primaries.

  • Includes extra-thick flanges and 1-3/4" primaries
  • Fits standard port S/B Chevy heads

 

Bend from out of the header flange downward is a 95 degree angle.

 

Bend from the "down" part of the tube out to the end is 90 degrees with a 23 degree twist

CARB Warning

For race/ off road use or for use on pre-1966 vehicles.

Emissions warning: this part only legal for sale or use in California for racing (competition) vehicles which may never be used, registered, or licensed for use upon a public highway, or if installed in vehicles model-year 1965 or older; motorcycles model-year 1977 or older; or off-highway recreational vehicles (such as off-road motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles) model-year 1996 and older. Any other use renders the vehicle tampered and not legal for use on California public highways (any public street or roadway, public dirt road, public park, or publicly maintained right of way open to the use of the public for vehicular travel). Violations subject to $37,500 penalty per violation per vehicle, revocation of registration, loss of use on California public right of ways, and proof of correction for tampering. These headers are used on a 66 nova chassis/strut car with a 6" engine setback. I added 2"x 16" extensions with a 22 degree up turn. Had to do some extra port welding, b/c rectangle flange to square port head. I suggest you clamp the tubes between a 2x4 and your bench as a mock up and rotate them where you want them. then mark the tubes T.D.C. that will aid in shaping a round tube into a rectangle with the help from a vise and a small hammer

Used as a basis for weedburners on my front engine dragster. On the dragster I wanted space between the pipes rather than having them bunched together at the bottom, and it was really easy to just adjust the angles and weld in place. Very easy kit to use and way cheaper than having pipes bent up for you.

What is the tube length from the head flange to the first downward bend?

Do the square ports in the flanges have enough surrounding material at each hole to bore them out to the pipe diameter? As a machinist, that would be much simpler than pounding the tubing ends square.
