If you want the early look but are reluctant to use old non-energizing drum brakes, we have just what you need. Our 100% new self-energizing backing plate assemblies come complete with shoes, wheel cylinders and hardware. Fits either the front or rear of 1937-48 Ford cars or 1937-47 Ford half-ton pickups with original style rear axle.
These brake assemblies can be used with Buick drums and 1948 Ford hubs, or we also offer new iron 12" x 2" brake drums (910-65400) with 5 on 5-1/2" bolt circle which are impossible to find elsewhere.
NOT 7/16"-20 IFF
Inlet fitting will require a sealing washer or O-ring style fitting
Bolt Pattern: 3-3/8" center-to-center both horizontal and vertically
If using Model A or B spindles the holes will have to be elongated inward to fit the narrower bolt pattern
We recommend use of adapter rings 916-31928 to keep the spindle centered in the backing plate

These drum brakes stop my hot rod as well as discs.

I was advised by others to get rid of the drum brakes and to "upgrade" to discs. Well, I didn't like the look of discs and the original builder, Brian Thomas of West Jordan, Utah didn't either. I bought the 12"x2" drum brake set for trucks from Speedway to replace the original Ford brakes, and these brakes stop this hot rod like it hit a concrete wall.

If you are looking for those vintage style Lincoln brakes, look no further. I wanted that post WWII look for a Model A hot rod and these brakes are absolutely cool. The brake drums make it look great with the stopping power to boot.

Hello. I have ford wire spoke wheels off of a 35 Ford on my Model A hotrod. Will these work without any issues on the front using your spindles, and the early hubs 91065450? I would use your drums 91065400. Do I need to worry about a spacer to center the wire wheels?

I installed part 910-32106 Super Bell 37-41 spindles on my 30 roadster. I just purchased 91065420 front bendix brakes with backing plates. The new backing plate hits the top of the spindle ring where the wheel cylinder bottom sits so that the backing plate cannot sit flush against the spindle plate. Are there adapters for this or is in necessary to modify the spindle plate somehow?
