Overall Assessment

Our product stands out for its quality and practicality, despite minor fitting issues described by users. The kit is recognized for its comprehensive content, offering superior brake performance when installed correctly. A few customers had concerns about the proportioning valve mount fitting, as well as the master cylinder bore. On the positive side, the installation process was generally smooth and the brakes performed very well, stopping the vehicle efficiently. Note that users advise upgrading to higher quality bearings. Some customers were not satisfied with certain parts, urging to pay attention to the fine print regarding the need for additional purchases, like spindles. In comparison, our product was considered "the best bang for your buck" by happy reviewers.

I was able to completely swap out my drum brakes with this kit with ease, instructions are very clear and easy to read. I would recommend to also buy the disc brake spindles in order to make the fitment work without modification.

May be a bit early to review this product as I only have it installed. Not yet bled or operated. I bought this as part of a manual drum to power disc conversion kit. Yes, mostly Chinese knock-offs but that was expected Booster and Master Cylinder: -The proportioning valve mount absolutely does not fit on my '65 Chevelle. It hits the inner fenderwell in a big way and could not be used. I fabricated a new mount down low, above the frame rail, which I think looks better having it more out of sight. This could be solved for all vehicles with a mount UNDER the master cylinder. -Instructions contradict my research about M/C bore and brake pedal ratio's. All the math says I should have an 1-1/8" bore and I should be using the upper hole in my pedal. Kit has a 1" bore master cylinder and with the angle of the booster mount, I can not persuade the clevis to hook to the upper hole. To be fair, I'm assuming Speedway knows what they're doing since this is all part of a complete conversion kit, and the instructions specifically say to use the lower hole (which lines up fine), So I have my fingers crossed it works as it should. Drum to Disc Conversion: A few concerns here. Again, I've only installed and not yet operated. -All wheel bearings and seals are made in China. I spent a bit more and replaced them all with TImken for peace of mind. Speedway should do this. -The calipers appear to be replicas of the GM model. Close but not quite. Where the flex brake hose connects to the caliper has the hose pointing straight up (vs to the rear). This puts a goofy gooseneck in the hose that interferes with the a-arm when turning and possibly the rim if you have a deep backspace. BAD IDEA that could wear thru the hose causing brake failure and injure someone. Consider this a warning. Overall: -OK for the $ but next time I will seek piece it together with GM parts etc.

I purchased the kit with and the spindles, everything bolted on perfectly. I did upgrade the booster the a delco moraine which was a big mistake. Turns out the delco booster would not return the brake pedal all the way and was defective, after installing to booster that came with the kit the cars stops on a dime. The bracket for the proportioning valve puts the valve too close to the inner fender so I had to buy a different bracket. There could be better directions on how to bleed the brakes and the importance of using the little tool to keep the shuttle valve centered.

Had to return.

READ FINE PRINT FIRST! You have to buy $160.00 Speedway spindles on top of this kit for it to work. Kit does not come with spindles. Cost me $$ to send it back.
