Improve Your G-Body or S10's Handling with a Bolt-On Control Arm Upgrade
Your S-10, Monte Carlo SS, Buick Grand National, or other G-body utilize the same front suspension configuration mounted to a perimeter frame. The factory front upper and lower control arms use traditional stamped steel assemblies fitted with a coil spring and a shock absorber for dampening. These pieces provided a fairly decent ride, however, today’s world is vastly different. We want our cars to handle well, fit big disc brakes, and wide sticky rubber. The stock stamped steel control arms can literally flex and fail under the cornering and braking forces applied to them, especially in a track environment. The last thing any enthusiast wants is a part failure that could potentially cause damage to their pride and joy (or worse, cause injuries). Updating your G-body or S10 with Speedway Motors’ beefy tubular control arms strengthens and enhances your car or truck’s handling.
Stamped Versus Tubular, The Benefits of Our Control Arms Are Obvious
As we stated earlier, a stamped steel control arm invites lots of sloppiness into your suspension due to flexing and twisting. While a stamping is indeed stronger than a flat sheet of metal, tubing is stronger still. So, when creating tubular suspension with steel tubing you greatly increase the rigidity of the product, eliminating that slop from twisting and flexing. What does that mean for you behind the wheel? When it comes to tubular control arms vs stock stamped arms you dive into a corner on our tubular control arms your vehicle will go where you point it to. Getting down on that brake pedal for some extreme braking? Even your brakes will perform better since your tubular control arms aren’t flexing under that hard braking input.
These are the best tubular control arms G-body and S 10 owners will find and feature a robust 1-1/2-inch diameter tubing for the tubular lower control arms and 1-1/4-inch tubing for the tubular upper control arms, both finished in a show-quality gloss black powder coat. Wall thickness of our tubular steel control arms is .120-inch on both the uppers and the lowers. Due to the thickness and material diameters these GM G body tubular control arms weigh in at 7 pounds each for the upper and 10 pounds each on the lower.
We have fitted greasable Delrin bushings and OE-spec ball joints to our tubular A arms with easy access grease fittings to make maintenance a breeze. Polyurethane bump stops are included for both upper and lower arm assemblies and these control arms are compatible with stock-style shock absorbers or can be used with aftermarket coilover shocks.
A Direct Bolt-In Solution That Is Easy to Install
Our tubular lower control arm bolts into place using your original control arm’s mounting hardware. If your fasteners have seen better days or went missing don’t worry, we offer G-Body upper and lower control arm hardware kit as well as an S-10 upper and lower control arm hardware kit to keep your project from grinding to a halt.
Factory style sway bar end links are compatible with the lower control arms and can be reused if yours are in good condition. Rubber sway bar end links frequently deteriorate and new polyurethane sway bar end links are offered individually as well as a G-Body 1-1/8” sway bar kit.
To match the handling gains that these front control arms provide we offer a Tubular Rear Control Arm Kit for G-Body cars which features incredibly rigid boxed tubing and new polyurethane control arm bushings. The combination of tubular front and rear control arms offers performance handling at an incredible value.
What more could you ask for from a set of bolt-on Speedway Motors tubular control arms like these? Your G-body or S 10 gains increased handling, performance bushings with minimal deflection, and more, all at a fraction of the cost of the competition.

Customers have confirmed the good quality and practicality of our control arms, although some flaws were noted such as the placement of the grease fittings, which are recommended to be greased prior to installation. Some users found the lower arms to potentially be shorter than expected, requiring use of shims for correct alignment. However, the product offers good value for the price, has fitting accuracy and enhanced travel capabilities as key features. Customers did wish for more inclusive instructions and better design of upper ball joints, some choosing to replace them. Despite minor issues, the product is generally seen as beneficial and superior to competitors.

Installed these to replace the crusty rusty 45 year old orignals on my ELCo - Disassembly was hours of work, reassembly was easy as the breeze. grease zerks are in the right places, ball joints were good to go. all the cotter pins and threads were in good contditoin. Made my life alot more simple than pressing out bushings and refinishing control arms.
