Improve Your F-Body’s Handling with a Bolt-On Control Arm Upgrade
Your 3rd Gen Camaro, Firebird, S-10, or G-body utilize similar lower control arms with the major difference being a larger bolt size for the front bushing possition on S-10's. The factory lower control arms use traditional stamped steel assemblies fitted with a inboard mounted coil spring with spindle mounted strut on the F-Body while the G-Body and S-10 use a coil spring and a shock absorber mounted to the lower control arm for dampening. These pieces provided a fairly decent ride, however, today’s world is vastly different. We want our cars to handle well, fit big disc brakes, and wide sticky rubber. The stock stamped steel control arms can literally flex and fail under the cornering and braking forces applied to them, especially in a track environment. The last thing any enthusiast wants is a part failure that could potentially cause damage to their pride and joy (or worse, cause injuries). Updating your F-body, G-body or S10 with Speedway Motors’ beefy tubular control arms strengthens and enhances your car or truck’s handling.
Stamped Versus Tubular, The Benefits of Our Control Arms Are Obvious
As we stated earlier, a stamped steel control arm invites lots of sloppiness into your suspension due to flexing and twisting. While a stamping is indeed stronger than a flat sheet of metal, tubing is stronger still. So, when creating tubular suspension with steel tubing you greatly increase the rigidity of the product, eliminating that slop from twisting and flexing. What does that mean for you behind the wheel? When it comes to tubular control arms vs stock stamped arms you dive into a corner on our tubular control arms your vehicle will go where you point it to. Getting down on that brake pedal for some extreme braking? Even your brakes will perform better since your tubular control arms aren’t flexing under that hard braking input.
These are the best tubular control arms Camaro, G-body, and S 10 owners will find and feature a robust 1-1/2-inch diameter tubing for the tubular lower control arms finished in a show-quality gloss black powder coat. Wall thickness of our tubular steel control arms is .120-inch which when combined with the material diameters these GM F-Body tubular control arms weigh in at 10 pounds each.
We have fitted greasable Delrin bushings and OE-spec ball joints to our tubular A arms with easy access grease fittings to make maintenance a breeze. Polyurethane bump stops are included for lower arm assemblies and these control arms are compatible with stock-style shock absorbers or can be used with aftermarket coilover shocks.
A Direct Bolt-In Solution That Is Easy to Install
Our tubular lower control arm bolts into place using your original control arm’s mounting hardware. If your fasteners have seen better days or went missing don’t worry, we offer F-Body and G-Body lower control arm hardware kit to keep your project from grinding to a halt.
Factory style sway bar end links are compatible with the lower control arms and can be reused if yours are in good condition. Rubber sway bar end links frequently deteriorate and new polyurethane sway bar end links are offered individually as well as a 1-3/8" sway bar kit for F-Body or the 1-1/8” sway bar kit for G-Body.
What more could you ask for from a set of bolt-on Speedway Motors tubular control arms like these? Your F-body, G-body or S 10 gains increased handling, performance bushings with minimal deflection, and more, all at a fraction of the cost of the competition.

Customers appreciate the improved design of our product after a crucial structural revision. However, some users found it unsuitable for installation with Eibach springs due to configuration issues. Despite this, the product's appearance and value were commended. There was a recall due to unrelated welding issues, but it's noteworthy that the post-revision model is definitely appreciated by users. The product remains more practical than its competitors due to its usability and design, although please be aware of compatibility issues with certain springs.

Designed for use with lowering springs
I have an 89 Camaro RS convertible. My lower control arms were shot and needed new ones. Not being able to source replacements I tried these. For the life of me I could not get the stock springs reinstalled so I ordered a lowering spring set from Eckler's Item EK-33-902295. I used a spring compressor and after a bunch of swearing got the driver's side in. Tomorrow I'll fight with the passenger side then the rears are next. Time will tell if this was a good choice or not. While I was in there, I got new Energy Suspension sway bar bushings and end links. Wheel bearings and brakes were also bad. It should ride really well considering it's all new.

Not a direct replacement for a 82-92 camaro
Installed these on my 85 camaro z28 with the factory springs and the ride hight was terrible. I would like to know what springs work with these control arms because I've tried 3 different sets to try and get the proper ride height with no luck. Not about to start cutting coils to make them work because they claim they are a direct replacement. The ride hight was fine on the factory control arms and had to put them back on.
