Speedway Motors 9308422H Details

These ceramic coated headers are designed to fit 1953-64 Ford F100 pickups with a Ford 272-312 Y-block engine. Features 1-5/8" primaries and 3" collectors.

  • 1-5/8" primary
  • 3" collectors
  • 5/16" thick flange
  • Includes header gaskets, header bolts, and 3"- 2-1/4" reducers with reducer collector gaskets

Note:  Header design will require the conversion to a spin-on filter assembly as the original canister type oil filter assembly will not clear the header.

Armor Hot Coat® (AHC) is a heat resistant, ceramic coating applied to the outside of the header. This coating will reflect heat, which helps retain more heat within the header tube while simultaneously speeding up the exhaust flow. Not only will this coating help you make more horsepower, it also keeps your headers rust-free, looking great, and lasting longer (when properly maintained). If you are looking for a show-quality finish for your headers, this is it! Our AHC will withstand exhaust temperatures of up to 1300° F.

AHC Warning: AHC coatings will burn and be damaged at exhaust temperatures over 1300 degrees. A lean fuel mixture can generate exhaust temperatures exceeding 1700-1900 degrees. If the coating is damaged due to a lean condition, the coating will not be warranted, but can be recoated for a fee.

Overall Assessment

Customers appreciate the headers for their easy installation, great fit, robust construction, and good sound quality. Some users pointed out that the product needed slight modifications to perfectly fit certain models but still praised the overall usability. They found the included gaskets and hardware helpful. While some were impressed with the coating, others noticed it wearing off quickly. However, this did not affect the performance of the product. Users, especially first-timers, were impressed with how nicely these headers fitted and enhanced their engines' look. They found the product offered good value for money and highlighted its superior quality compared to other headers. However, they recommended inspecting the welds thoroughly before installation. Still, most customers would repurchase this product and appreciate its impact on their vehicles.

acceptable for the price

The first set I was sent were so poorly welded they leaked between the flange and the primary tube on one primary. Inspect the welds VERY carefully before install. Fit was good, one of the easiest header installs I have ever done After installing I discovered that the stock canister style oil filter could no longer be removed from the chassis, requiring a conversion to a spin on filter. I feel this should be noted in the fitment notes and installation instructions

Fits perfect on the driver side of a 64 f100/f250 with a 292. Passenger side is tight under the crossmember. I attempted to mount the headers to a workbench and bend with leverage, but ended up needing a hammer to flatted the crown on the collector to fit, The welds held up just fine. Included all necessary gaskets and hardware and even flange tips if you want to run straights.

Great fit and finish on receipt. Very impressed for the price. Unfortunately on first dyno run the coating has burned up and they are now matte chrome. Common enough problem however I've never seen this on a first run. The header temperature was not excessive but appears coating was applied to thin. It's not a problem in my application but time again I'd buy plain ones and get treated locally (international buyer).

Just installed these headers today on my '59 F100 with 292. Made it look 1000 times better. Engine painted red with aluminum intake and chrome valve covers. These headers really set it off now. Driver side very easy to install. Passenger side a little tricky working around oil dip stick tube, generator, starter, and battery tray, but still not bad. This was my first time wver installing a set of headers so very impressed with fit and finish.

I have a stock 1957 Ford F-150 Styleside PU with stock 292CI/column shift 3 spd. My current headers are 20 year old Sanderson rusted short huggers. Want to buy the longer coated headers. Which is best sized for no hassel install, the fenderwell or chassis I am in California and know about the pollution issue but truck is too old for law. Will these headers clear my trans mount when they go under my cab? I know I will have to modify existing exhaust to mate to new length of headers.
