Tanks 53-CGX Details

This 18 gallon fuel tank kit from Tanks Inc. features a large 3/8" NPT pickup tube. It is compatible with your 1953-1954 Chevy car. It includes mounting straps, gaskets, and O-ring sealed screws.

Note: When using the 53-CGX tank with a GPA series pump a 3/8" NPT pipe plug will be needed to block off the internal fuel tank pickup tube.

Great product

This tank fit perfectly into the stock mounting spot with no modifications needed other tha drilling holes in th universal tank straps One thing i ran into was you cannot use a stock fuel sending unit in this tank due to the float hits the fuel injection bafflt plate, and since the holes are in a specific pattern i had to re drill sening unit holes. No big deal just an inconvenionce but it all worked out fine !!!

Tank is deeper than stock. Includes strap material but you have to fabricate them (cut, drill). The stock fuel lines and exhaust will not fit as is. Lines must be bent and exhaust rerouted. No fittings or size information included so you have to figure that out. One wrong size and you just ruined a tank. Says direct fit but it is not by any means. An amateur would have some trouble with this and figure they got the wrong product. The tank is great quality and looks great but you should inform customers what they need to make it fit. Got it in filled with gas and cranked it right up. Product works great.

Fits right in place. Had to cut the straps to size. First cut them to the original size but this tank must be larger. Had to weld the cut pieces back on. Other then that a very nice tank.

Was a easy change out, I didn't need the straps that came with the tank. I used the originals, just put longer bolts at the rear of tank. Saved trying to cut, drill holes and fit measurements on new straps.
