This 18 gallon fuel tank kit from Tanks Inc. features a large 3/8" NPT pickup tube. It is compatible with your 1949-1952 Chevy car. It includes mounting straps, gaskets, and O-ring sealed screws.
- Alloy Coated Steel to protect against corrosion
- Painted for additional protection
- Internal Baffles
- Large 3/8" NPT Internal Pickup Tube
- 1" deeper for extra capacity
- Block-Off plate for non fuel injected cars
- 1-1/2" ID Mandrel formed fuel-proof connecting hose for easy installation
- Accept any 5 bolt after market sender such as Classic, Stewart Warner, VDO, Autometer, etc
- Includes mounting straps, gaskets & O-ring sealed screws
- 51-CGX (18 Gallons)
Note: When using the 51-CGX tank with a GPA series pump a 3/8" NPT pipe plug will be needed to block off the internal fuel tank pickup tube.

Pleasantly surprised with the quality !
The tank I bought was designed for a car but I installed it in my pick-up because the dimensions allowed me to fit it perfectly behind my rear axle. It turned out great! I'm very happy with the quality of the tank and the parts in the kit.

A Generic Part
Nice tank but...Since the tank is a generic tank, which is larger than the original, certain modifications and fabrications were needed. First the support straps need to be shaped and drilled for use. Second;The filler end on the tank is a larger diameter than the filler neck.So I needed to fabricate a piece to connect the rubber hose provided to the filler neck. Third; the tank has a baffle.This did not permit the sending unit to be attached front to rear, but skewed to one side. Also the sending unit holes are pre drilled and tapped and needed to be reconfigured. A lot of extra work.

Will this tank work with a stock sending unit/fuel gauge on my '52 Chevy sedan? I'm currently running a 12 volt system with resisters for the gas gauge, radio, and heater. It sounds like it needs an aftermarket sender.
