easy installation
I have a 25 year old Tbucket and I wanted to replace the old plastic gas tank. This tank fit just right into my 20 inch truck bed with room left for the battery. It looks great and was easy to install.

Nice workmanship with issues
Nice welding and construction but 2 problems. The first was the hole for the fuel-sending unit. Gas will make its way abound the screw threads and leak. I was told by a Speedway Tec to use Permatex Aviation on the threads. That lasted about 3 days. Finally I put rubber washers on the screws and that worked. Next was the vent or roll over valve. Every time I filled the tank I would find gas all over my garage floor. Speedway sent me a new valve, same problem. The vent sticks about 2 inches into the tank. When you fill the tank the gas is above the valve and is cold. As the gas expands it is pushed out the valve. The only way to fix this is to loosen the fill cap until the gas worms up or not fill the gas tank, keeping the valve out of the gas.

Do not try to remove the outlet fitting as you will brake off the dip tube inside the tank. I had to have one welded in the bottom.

I have been looking for a low profile fuel tank that would fit under the seat on my Boston Whaler. The tank measurements made a great fit. capacity is enough to allow me several hours of cruising time and opened up the aft area giving me a lot of leg room.

Speedway replacement gas cap #91140262 is correct for this tank (the thread is 1-1/2 x 14 threads per inch) My roll-over vent tube would bleed out some fuel if I filled the tank completely full up because the fitting submerges into the fuel which prevents venting. I decided to drill and mount a cheap "universal dirt bike gas tank vent" from ebay into the gas cap which is the highest point of the tank and doesn't submerge in the fuel and use a pipe plug to cap off the vent tube fitting I was no longer using. I've had good results and no leaks in the last year. It would be nice if a vented cap version of the #91140262 was offered.

Why don't you guys offer a tank like this for the 14" pickup box? The length and height are okay for my needs, but the width needs to be reduced to 10" to fit. Can 4 3/4' be sectioned out of one of these and then re-welded? Understood I'd lose some capacity, but at least it'd fit.

What is the thread for the filler neck and cap? The reason I ask is because when I measure the cap threads I come up with 1.488 inch major diameter next to the o-ring. That doesn't seem to correspond to common size. Is the cap for this tank Part # 91140262?

I want to install the cobra style gasp fill PN-617-9022 on my fuel tank PN-752715 . I need to know ,what size is the gas fill opening and what is the thread pitch for the gas cap. The tank is mounted on your frame kit Deluxe 23 t-bucket frame kit Deluxe body Channeled chevy -chrome PN -7153421. The gap between the bottom of the cobra cap mounted on the bed cover PN-7151109 and the top of the threaded gas fill bung is approximately 1-3/4". I'm at a loss as to how to make this work without further input from you . I was told it was an easy conversion when I made the purchased, a matter of hose and a couple of clamps but i see no way to tighten the clamps with only 1-3/4' clearance or attach to the fill opening. Any recommendations to complete this installation would be most appreciated.

Is there a vented gas cap available for this tank? I have the rollover valve installed in the tank and every time I fill the tank, fuel drips out the valve and onto my garage floor. The tube acts like a syphon until the tank level drops below the tip of the tube in the tank.I can't leave the tank full in my garage.Expanding fuel pressurizing in tank makes it come out rollover valve.A vented cap would keep pressure in tank lower, wouldn't it?
