Overall Assessment

Customers generally find the product effective and of great quality. Its main features include an easy installation process which pleases most users. It seems to help reduce overheating and gas leakage problems in several carb setups, and is also beneficial in preventing vapor lock. However, some found it to be a snug fit and not exactly as pictured. It may not fit certain types of carbs without modifications. Although a competitor's product may offer a better shape and thickness, many customers are more satisfied with this product’s performance and are willing to buy again.

Not exactly as pictured

Product image is a little deceiving. The picture appears to show the traditional layered canvas type phenolic spacer, the one I received was just a solid orange resin. Fit and quality look good otherwise and should likely work just the same.

Doesn't fit the Super 97 carbs.

Had to open up the throttle bores to match my Stromberg 97 Big Bore carbs. Doesn't fit the manifold base in shape, either. Should be OK for stock Stromberg 97 carbs. Found other manufacturers that made the correct shape and also a thicker spacer. Generic, not specialized.

These need a note stating that the stock 1-1/4" studs that Speedway sells for the Stromberg 97 are too short to use with this spacer. You need at least 1-1/2" long studs, or better, even 1-3/4".
