Mandrel Bent Exhaust Combo Bend for Custom Exhaust System or Header Creation
Complete application specific headers are a great DIY option for increased performance and exhaust sound, but what if you’re building something custom (engine, driveline swaps, adding turbos, etc.) or your ride is simply of the age that direct fit header systems aren’t available, well then, you’re going to be building your own header tubes. While we do offer header build kits for some applications, often when you get into those projects where a certain chassis or the addition of a turbo won’t allow the use of such weld up kits. In these instances, our selection of mandrel bent exhaust elbows, U-bends, and more will most certainly help you get your custom header tubes built out to get your project ready for the road.
Our combo exhaust bend provides not one, but two popular exhaust tubing bends often required when building custom headers. This 1-5/8-inch OD mandrel bent exhaust pipe includes a 90-degree and a 180-degree bend, along with enough straight section to build starter tubes or provide an area to weld or use an exhaust pipe expander for installation. The mandrel bend process provides maximum exhaust flow without reduction in interior diameter. Manufactured from T304 stainless steel, the combo bend features a uniform .065-inch wall thickness throughout with a 23-inch overall length. Cut the exhaust tubing bends out as needed, and weld together to create a compound bend to solve your custom header needs and finish off your header tubes with the appropriately sized header collector to build the perfect custom headers for your build.

Tube measures 1.650" OD, with very minimal profile distortion throughout the bends (Measures 1.635" and 1.665"). Tubing has a very very small weld seam (.005" tall), but this tube is not marketed as DOM so this is expected. The location of the seam is consistently located on the "side" of the bends and not the inside or outside where it could compromise the strength/quality of the bend. No kinking of the tube at the lead-in or lead-out portions of the bend like you see with lower quality "mandrel" bent tubing. The tube is pretty much exactly as the photo shows, with only slightly more noticeable marks from where the clamps hold the tube to form the bends. These marks can be easily be polished out or knocked down with a red scotch brite. Lost a star for being slightly off advertised dimensions (1.650" instead of 1.625"). Not a problem for me but if you're mixing and matching with other brands you may care or have issues with slip fit parts if they have tight tolerances for 1.625"
