Return PolicyThese wheels carry the style and grace of original Ford steel wheels from the early forties. Constructed from high quality materials, these are just the ticket for your vintage inspired hot rod. What makes these even better than genuine Ford wheels is that they come in a variety of sizes to fit your application.
Wheels feature an Early Ford 5 on 5.5” bolt pattern with a faithful ’40 style lug pad. Perfect for era-correct chrome steelies.
A variety of options are available for center caps. Must use our Vintage Series caps or adapters - original caps will not fit these wheels without adaptation.

Customers found the product to be generally satisfactory, but there are a few concerns. Notably, many praised its solid construction and aesthetics, while some noted that the wheels mount and fit well, improving their vehicle's look, particularly vintage models like the '38 Ford truck. However, there were complaints about less-than-ideal workmanship, indicated by prominent hoop weld lines and possible grinder marks. Despite these flaws, customers still noted that given their pricing, the wheels offer decent value – a fair and functional option when original wheels are hard to find. Yet, they fell short in replicating the exact specifications of originals, affecting the track width.

The Wheel could use some blending on the weld on the hoop itself.

Since these are the only "40 style Ford" wheels available with a single 5x5.5 bolt pattern I decided to give them a try because nice original wheels are hard to find. First off Wheel Smith makes a very poor quality wheel, terrible welds and very deep grinder gouge marks on every wheel where someone attempted to sand the weld seam on the hoop. The backspacing is also 3/4" less than the original wheels which extends the track width by 1.5". Overall these wheels are not useable as an alternative to original wheels.

What is the diameter of the hubcap that it will fit? We have reproduction Ford hubcaps that are 8 and 7/8ths from the base of the hubcap that snaps down over the 4 nubs to hod the hubcap on. They fit the original 49 Ford wheels, but there's not any measurements for the hubcap size.

What's diameter of center hole? I have an old rim I'am trying to match its 16" overall a little over 5" wide with 3 1/4" back space and 3 7/16" center hole has to fit over one of your disc brake conversion kits for a 1938 ford truck.do you have something that's close. Thanks Lonnie

Do these 16 x 4.5 Ford wheels come with Lincoln hub cap clips or is there an another alternative. The Lincoln style hub cap was held on internally by the clip. I think the ford cap was held on the outside probably some were internal like the Lincoln.
