I have a 1964 T-Bird with a power antenna and the original power antenna switch. The replacement power antenna should have a ground,or the unit itself grounds when attached to the vehicle. One wire when powered brings the antenna "up" and the other wire when powered will go "down". Simple! Is that what this unit does?

Need to replace an existing power antenna that is recessed into the fender. The inside measurement of the recess is 1.25 inches around and approximately the same depth. My question what is the diameter of the mount escutcheon that mount on top? Will order if there is reasonable probability it will fit.
