Outstanding

I have used a number of these on various hot rods and the reason for that is that they work well, look good, and mount easily to the core support. I have never had a problem with quality or function. Another neat thing is they take up little space and look right.

SS Overflow Tank

I installed the 13 inch overflow tank on my 1981 Chevrolet C10 pickup truck, while it looked wonderful when I lifted the hood it proved inadequate to the task, it simple was/is too small to hold the volume the coolant expands. I feel the description of this item should include its suitability for specific cooling system capacities. I also found that the overflow outlet on my radiator to be 3/8th and could not locate locally a reducer to hookup to the 1/4th inlet on this tank which required I make my own. I now understand why the stock tank holds over a quart of overflow. The 1/4 inlet and outlet are more suitable for 5/32nd tubing as clamps for 1/4th tubes are rather scarce and without clamps the inlet will leak. I'm re-enstalling a stock tank, but hope in the future to install a suitably sized SS overflow tank.

I purchased this overflow tank to secure to the side of a radiator/fan assembly on a Model A hot rod. It worked well, but It is worth noting that if you intend on adding this as part of a proper coolant recovery system (where hot coolant can be recovered back into the radiator once it has cooled), you really cant have the fluid level in this overflow very high while it is cold. I initially filled this reservoir with just a couple inches worth of coolant on a cold system, and volume difference while at operating temp/hot was enough to nearly overfill it.

I installed this tank in my 67 Ford Bronco with 5.0 HO/AOD conversion. Looks prenominal and works just as well. Major upgrade from the factory reservoir and WAY better than anything else I found online!

How are the support brackets mounted to the tank? Are they mounted radially outward from the tank or do they mount tangentially on the right or left side of the tank when it is viewed upright?
