Speedway Motors 9300560 Details

Vintage style street rods are hotter than ever, and nothing gives your fenderless rod an authentic dry lakes competition look like a set of lakester headers. These lake style header kits allow you to build your own weld up headers and tailor them to your vehicle. All tubing comes pre-bent. Tapered cones can be trimmed as needed. Lakester header kit includes parts to complete both sides.

CARB Warning

For race/ off road use or for use on pre-1966 vehicles.

Emissions warning: this part only legal for sale or use in California for racing (competition) vehicles which may never be used, registered, or licensed for use upon a public highway, or if installed in vehicles model-year 1965 or older; motorcycles model-year 1977 or older; or off-highway recreational vehicles (such as off-road motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles) model-year 1996 and older. Any other use renders the vehicle tampered and not legal for use on California public highways (any public street or roadway, public dirt road, public park, or publicly maintained right of way open to the use of the public for vehicular travel). Violations subject to $37,500 penalty per violation per vehicle, revocation of registration, loss of use on California public right of ways, and proof of correction for tampering. There are similar restrictions and penalties under federal law and the laws of all other states with penalties under federal law of up to approximately $45,268 per tampered vehicle and/or engine.

Was good kit but flanges were different, 1 side was square port and other was round, not worth the hassle sending back plus already built 1 side before noticed. Look over EVERYTHING before starting, lesson learned

This was my first time building headers from a kit. Turned out great with all the parts I needed. I didn't use the cap off plates or the parts to connect to exhaust under the car. I made my own baffles to go inside, Sounds great.

This kit is very user friendly, It makes it possible to customize your headers to fit exactly how you want. It does take some skill. We were able to get them fit up in about 3 hrs. The welding is a little challenging because of the tight clearance on a small block chevy. In our case we had to add 2" to the pipe on the back. I am guessing that this would be a pretty common problem for most builds. The flanges could be a little better if they were laser cut or cut with a water jet. The punched parts are OK but need a little work dePending on the finished product that you are after. Overall this is a great product that just about anyone should be able to put together.
