Overall Assessment

Customers appreciate the product's quality and practicality for drag racing and vintage car racing. The product has favorable usability and material quality, demonstrated through its widespread use and repetitious purchases. Particularly, the durable belts are deemed perfect for maintaining safety in racing jobs. The pull-up lap belt stands out for its unique, beneficial feature providing particular suitability for vintage midgets. It's noted that while extensions might be needed in some cases, this fault lies in the chassis mounting, not the product itself. Customers suggested longer belts for better adjustability. Its safety-enhanced latch cover and competitive pricing compared to comprehensive harness sets make it a preferred choice.

I vintage race a couple of open wheel sprint cars from the 30's. These belts are perfect for this job.

I needed a pull up lap belt for my vintage midget. Pull down belt wouldn't work because of both full side panels plus the dry sump tank on left side. The only problem I had was needing to make extensions to get the adjuster up into the seat. That is caused by the chassis mounting point and is not Simpson's fault. Maybe Simpson could make belts with a longer distance from the mount to the adjuster. I like the latch cover as a safety feature. The price of this lap only belt was at least half of a complete 5 point harness set.
